2010 is here!! The long awaited FIFA World Cup is less than six months away and all preparations to make this a successful event are well under way. On the medical front, the official medical teams manning each clinic within the stadia and at the various fan parks, have been appointed and I am sure that they cannot wait for the gates to open. I wish them well, and I am sure they will have a lot of fun whilst serving the thousands of visitors.
Our development team has also been hard at work to better our products and managed to add a couple of very important additions:
Me+:
- HEALTH one is an electronic healthcare record and clinical management tool that has been successfully integrated with ME+. This gives our ME+ clients access to a software application that allows for the efficient storage of clinical and other information in a secure electronic format. The benefits of computerized clinical patient records over paper based systems have been demonstrated to improve clinical decision-making and provide a higher quality of patient care.
- Another excellent feature that I am sure will find favour with our Me+ client base is the ability to do eligibility checks from within our Diary!
Elixir:
- Within Elixir, the diary functionality had been upgraded to allow for the management of multiple resources from within the diary
- Batch emailing of statements to patients and medical aids now saves you time!
- The integration of Microsoft Word and Excel allows for the creation of clinical templates
- Elixir can now be automatically updated over the web
Mastermed:
- The applications performance has been enhanced and the multiple switching interfaces namely Switch, HealthBridge and Medikredit has been added
- Mastermed has been integrated with the Med-e-Mass card solution so that you can increase the cash flow of your practice – all three of our main applications are now 100% Credit, Debit and Edcon card accredited.
I am sure these changes, which are only a few of the main enhancements introduced to add value to your business, will be well accepted and will allow you to increase your practice efficiencies by leaps and bounds. This is what differentiates our offering when compared with off-the-shelf products, we continue to improve and add value –year after year!! Our development environment never ceases to outperform the rest.
Lastly, I am also very pleased to announce that our annual price increases across the different service offerings could be contained within the borders of our pledge to you – Once again, we have managed to keep our costs as low as possible, and in keeping with our pledge to you, managed to stay within the average CPIX index - hence, our increase passed on to you for 2010 (with effect 1 March 2010) will be a nominal average of 7%.
