2009 is well on its way and already so much has happened. In his inauguration speech a few weeks ago, US President Barack Obama used a phrase that has become my mantra for 2009, “Choose Hope”. We live in turbulent times and it depends on whether you see the glass to be half full or half empty that determines what you will make of the challenges you face and will define your experience. Change is a good thing and although it may be uncomfortable in the beginning, you have the capacity to adapt and before you know it – it works and you don’t know how you ever coped before.

2009 is going to be a very exciting year for all of us!! The dispute with the Department of Health with regards to dispensing fees has received a new life after positive talks with the minister. It seems as if the issues may actually be resolved quite rapidly. We have the upcoming elections and the long-awaited 2010 World Cup is around the corner. All indications are there that interest rates will keep on falling and hopefully the petrol price may stabilise too. So much can happen this year!
