
Practice Management Software
Medit is one of stalwart MS DOS-based applications. It supports clinics, general medical practitioners, radiology, anaesthesiology, and dentistry practices, as well as group practices. It has a comprehensive Stock system and works particularly well for dispensing.
Medit was developed in 1994 because it was felt that the market required a simpler approach to Practice Management Application (PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE) industry. The approach was, to make it a client-driven product, where the service providers could feel comfortable making choices about the way they wanted to work.
How does Medit handle the Discovery Health unique tariff rates?
Please take note:
- When posting the specified tariff, the unique price selected will automatically be used instead of the default price.
- The unique pricing feature is only applicable to M charge rate accounts.
- Medit only caters for the flat fee in Rand value to be specified for each tariff code and does not use a Rand Conversion Factor (RCF)
- From the Main System menu, select the Files menu, select the Edit option, and then the Medical aids option.
- Select the medical scheme you want to apply the unique pricing to by typing its code. Alternatively use the Search function to locate the medical scheme.
- Press the F3 key labeled Unique Tariffs.
- If this is the first unique tariff being added for this medical scheme, a prompt is displayed for the tariff code and amount. Type the tariff code and its unique Discovery Health value.
- Press the Esc key to save the change(s).
- To add another unique tariff, press the F3 key again. A list of unique tariffs is displayed.
- Search for and select the unique tariff to edit by pressing Enter on the required line. Alternatively press the Esc button to add another unique tariff.
Please take note:
- The unique pricing applied is on a per-option level. If a medical scheme has several options (e.g. DISCOVERY CLASSIC CORE, DISCOVERY CLASSIC COMPREHENSIVE) follow steps 2 and on for each medical scheme option to apply unique pricing for.
To remove a specific tariff’s unique pricing rule:
- From the Main System menu, select the Files menu, select the Edit option, and then the Medical aids option.
- Select the medical scheme to remove the unique pricing from by typing its code. Alternatively use the Search function to locate the medical scheme.
- Press the F3 key labeled Unique Tariffs. A list of unique tariffs is displayed.
- Search for and select the unique tariff to remove by pressing Enter on the required line.
- Press the Esc key and select the Delete option from the displayed menu.
