How does ME+ handle the Discovery Health unique tariff rates?
Please take note:
- ME+ caters for both a flat fee unique value as well as a Rand Conversion Factor (RCF) or unit rate.
- These steps MUST be repeated for every medical aid that has a unique tariff rate.
- These steps could also be repeated for multiple charge rates per medical aid i.e. ANAESTHETICS.
Option 1: Configuring Unique Tariff Rates
You can have different tariff rates linked to different medical aids. To do this you need to:
- From the Main menu select the Codes Maintenance option, select the Treatment codes and Drugs option and then select the Tariff rates option.
- Locate the charge rate you would like to add a different rate for. For example Clinical procedure rate.
- Press Shift + F4 to duplicate the highlighted charge rate.
- With the Rates Maintenance screen displayed, move to the second Code field.
- Select the medical aid you want to specify a unique rate for.
- Type the appropriate unit price for each of the four (4) charge rates (Private, Med.Aid., Other and Special). Also specify the rounding off rule.
Option 2: Configuring Unique Tariff Codes
You can have different flat fees linked to different tariff codes per medical aid option / plan. To do this you need to:
- From the Main menu select the Codes Maintenance option, select the Treatment codes and Drugs option and then select Treatment Codes.
- Locate the tariff code you would like to specify a unique flat price for.
- Press F5 to edit the tariff code.
- With the Add / Edit Tariff Code screen displayed, access the Tariff tab and select the (default) line
- Press F4 to add a new tariff rule line to this particular tariff code.
- Click on the Amount radio button.
- Type the appropriate amounts in each of the Charge rate fields i.e. Private, Medical, Other, Special.
- Locate and select the medical aid and plan for which these prices apply.
- Press F10 to save the changes.
Please take note:
- These steps must be repeated for each medical aid plan that requires unique amounts.
