How does Elixir handle the Discovery Health unique tariff rates?
Please take note:
- The unique tariff prices are only applied to accounts linked to the BENEFIT charge rate..
- Elixir caters for both a flat fee unique value as well as a Rand Conversion Factor (RCF) or unit rate.
- These steps MUST be repeated for every medical aid option that has a unique tariff rate.
- From version 2.51 Elixir has the functionality to import a Discovery Health tariff rate file. Please take note that this file must be in the format defined by Elixir development. Instructions on using the new functionality is included in the Release Notes.
Option 1: Configuring Unique Tariff Rates
You can have different tariff rates linked to different medical aids. To do this you need to:
- Click on the Medical action tab or select the Medical funds option from the File menu.
- Search for and select the required medical fund from the Medical funds data grid.
- Click on the Unique tariffs button OR press ALT + U.
- The Elixir unique tariff prices screen is displayed.
- Click on the Insert button on the Navigator bar OR press the Insert button on your keyboard.
The Elixir unique tariff entry screen is displayed.
Type or select the NHRPL tariff code that has the unique price. - Elixir automatically writes the selected Your code’s NHRPL published code to the BHF code field and also displays the code’s description.
- Type the unique price that this particular medical fund will pay for the selected tariff code.
- Click on the Add button if this is the only tariff code that requires a unique price for the particular medical fund.
OR
Click on the Repeat button to specify another unique price for a tariff code.
Option 2: Configuring Unique Tariff Divisions
- Click on the Medical action tab or select the Medical funds option from the File menu.
- Search for and select the required medical fund from the Medical funds data grid.
- Click on the Unique divisions button OR press ALT + Q.
- The Elixir financial weights per medical fund screen is displayed.
- Click on the Insert button on the Navigator bar OR press the Insert button on your keyboard.
The Elixir financial category entry [medical fund] screen is displayed.
Type the name of the Financial category you want to define parameters for. Please take note that Elixir will not allow duplicate Financial category names. - Specify the reference number as per current Financial category specifications.
- Type the Discovery Health unit price (RCF) for each of the four (4) required charge rates.
- Click on the Add button if this is the only tariff code that requires a unique price for the particular medical fund.
OR
Click on the Repeat button to specify another unique price for a tariff code.
